Bowood Park Seniors Betterball Open 2025 – Event Report
Wednesday 4th June 2025 saw Bowood Park Golf Club host its ever-popular Seniors Betterball Open, welcoming players from across Cornwall and beyond for a day of competitive golf, camaraderie, and excellent course conditions.
The competition featured a strong field, with pairs competing in a betterball stableford format. With the course in fantastic shape and the weather holding up for much of the day, scoring was impressively close at the top of the leaderboard.
After a tightly contested finish, M. Weaver & A. Hamlyn (Looe GC) claimed 1st place with 44 points on countback, narrowly edging out L. Molloy & M. Marshall (Teignmouth & Bowood Park), who also returned a superb 44 points.
A special mention goes to T. Stevens & M. Richards (Whitsand Bay) who finished 3rd with 43 points, followed by three other pairs tied on 42 points, with positions decided via countback.
The Out of County Prize was awarded to R. Webb & M. Smith (Dainton Park) with a strong 42 points, again decided on countback.
An impressive 20 players made 2’s, each receiving a £24 voucher for their efforts.
