From Newmarket to the U.S. Open – Tyler Weaver Makes History
We’re proud to share that Tyler Weaver, a lifelong member of Newmarket Golf Club, has made history as the first golfer from Suffolk to qualify for the U.S. Open.
Tyler, 22, will compete in his first major championship at the 125th U.S. Open, held June 12–15 at Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh. He earned his place with an incredible 11-under performance over 36 holes at the Piedmont Driving Club in Atlanta, securing one of five coveted qualifying spots.
Having grown up on our fairways, with his dad Jason and older brother Max still active members, Tyler’s journey from Newmarket to the world stage is something truly special.
To mark the occasion, we’ll be hosting a watch party at the clubhouse for his first tee shot at Oakmont — details to come.
Tyler’s achievement is already inspiring our next generation of juniors, showing them just how far dreams forged here at Newmarket can go.
