Momentum Charity Day

Last Friday, we were proud to host the Momentum Children’s Charity Golf Day - a cherished event in our calendar since 2005. It was wonderful to welcome teams, supporters and the brilliant celebrity players from The Stage Golfing Society for a memorable day on the course, all in support of families with seriously ill children.

Men’s Medal

82 players took to the field for the medal on Saturday.

Congratulations David Lymburn with a winning score of 64. Ed McCaw was runner-up also on 64 with Steve Deakin third, on 66.

Luis Fernandez had the best gross with a 68.

Sunday Roll-up

Sunday roll up saw 25 early morning golfers going out in immaculate course conditions. Only the single two scored by Roger Clarke. There were a number of high scores today with third place going to John Inglis on 40 points! 2024 Sunday Order of Merit winner David Bradley had a cracking round with 42 points and took second (but has he peaked too early we wonder) ??

This weeks winner with 44 points Mike Hanak. All three have been duly docked shots for their efforts!!

New Members 9 Hole

On Sunday afternoon, the club welcomed 27 new members to join in a fun 9 hole ‘new members afternoon’ which was an opportunity for the ‘newbies’ to meet current members as well as having the opportunity to connect with other new joiners. The sun shone, some great golf was played, and all enjoyed a drink and some great food post golf.

And finally…

The hole in one that wasn’t

It appears the GM had a hole in one off the ladies tee on 6 at the weekend! As far as the newsroom are concerned, a more unlikely person to identify as female one couldn’t find!

The official report reads thus:

”The GM whilst playing in the medal on Saturday, had the indignity of his tee shot on the 6th catching the trees, only to drop behind the ladies tee, some 144 yards from the flag.  Have no fear as he simply holed it from the ladies tee for a cheeky two”

That’s All Folks!
