Beat the Club Pro & Captain – First Match Result!
The first match of the Beat the Club Professional and Club Captain competition took place on 30 May 2025, and it was a fantastic start to the series! Congratulations to Leigh Pragnell and Pete Steen, who secured a hard-fought and well-deserved 4&2 victory over Trevor and Derry.
This fun and friendly event is open to all sections of the membership and aims to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK, while giving members the chance to enjoy some competitive golf alongside Trevor and Derry.
A total of 10 matches are scheduled for the year. At the end of the series, the team with the biggest winning margin will be awarded the trophy. The format is Four-Ball Better Ball (4BBB).
As part of the charity effort:
Any team losing their match will be asked to make a £10 donation per player to the Captain’s charity.
Teams that win or draw not only avoid the donation, but will also enjoy a celebratory drink from Trevor and Derry after the round!
There’s currently one match slot remaining, so if you’re up for the challenge, get in touch with Derry to secure your place.
