In the final Peace Qualifier and President's Medal, we saw a full field in an attempt to qualify for the knockout. Michael Dixon had the best nett score on the day with a superb 64. He had a gross 4 over par back nine for a nett 30 (6 under handicap). Kevin Wooldridge took 2nd place winning on countback from Geoffrey Hunt on nett 67's.
In Division 1, John Edge took the spoils with a nett 67. Starting with a nett 31 front followed by a 36 on the back nine. Mark Gilbertson took 2nd on countback over David Kirkpatrick both with good nett scores of 68. Marcus Dodds had the best gross score of the day with a 69 including 5 birdies, a great score.
Peter Jack currently leads the Order of Merit by 150 points after three great performances in the first four President's Medals, leading Kevin Wooldridge in second and Alan Robinson closely behind in third.
Junior Patrons Day was a huge success with some great golf and support from the members. Thanks to Owen Ridley for organising the day and Kenny Hogg and our sponsors for the prizes for the raffle and auction. Ben Morris, Charlie Cullen, Tom Gilligan and Ben Morris came in second place with 88 points, a terrific score. The team of Kenny Hogg, John Wright, Roger Wallace and Dick Thompson took the spoils with 91 points for their second team title of the year. Congrats to them and to all who took place on a great day.
In the Crossling Cup and Club Championship Qualifier (R4), Steven Cullen had the best score on the day with a nett 66. He went out in gross 37 and came back in 40, for a 6 over 77 playing off 11. Nigel Ritchie came in second with a nett 68 winning on countback over John Hutchby and Derry Casson. Liam Short had the best gross score of the day with a 72, he had 3 birdies in his round including back to back on the 3rd and 4th.
The club championship qualifying has been tied in to the men's medal competitions this year where the 2 best gross scores out of the 6 qualifying competitions counts for each player. Marcus Dodds sits at the best scores so far with a 69 and 73. The top 16 will qualify for the knockout competition.
