Everybody loves the sunshine!!
I can't begin to explain just how busy the club has been during April and the first two weeks of May. But to give you an idea during April we have taken £24,404 more through the tills v's the same month last year!
That doesn't include membership payments.
Membership wise, we are very much full... We continue to try and grow our ladies section but the door is closed to new members for 2025/26 and the waiting list is slowly filling once more. Our Flexible membership is open, however that is fast approaching it's limit of 60 members.
Our new members for 2025/26 have settled in well, several of whom are supporting the club across all aspects. The large society on Saturday was courtesy of some of our new members, thank you guys!
I'm going to have my weekly moan now, so please read on!!
TEE MARKERS
Believe it or not, the quality of our tees now is largely down to the rotation of tee marker position and everything that goes with that.
Annoyingly.....the markers are repeatedly being moved by members, sometimes in competition. We know this because the tee position is marked by paint every time they are placed.
DO NOT move the markers, I know sometimes the position of the tees does not suit your shot shape, but unfortunately that's part of the game, deal with it!
If you move a tee marker in competition you incur a two shot penalty, If you move a marker to suit your game, then quite frankly you should go and play golf somewhere else. Our green staff work all hours trying to give our membership the best possible playing conditions, please respect the set up of the course.
COMPETITION RESULTS:
LADIES DAILY MAIL FOURSOMES
Congratulations to Val Freed & Pauline Henninger for reaching the fourth round of the above competition. Val and Pauline beat a strong pair from Woburn in round 3 and will now face an away match at Redbourne GC.
Good Luck!!
SCRATCH TEAM
Our scratch team travelled to Burford GC in the Cotswolds last Saturday, our first match of the Elite Amateur Golf League. I'm pleased to report we came away with a really good 3.5 to 1.5 win! Well played team!!
CAPTAIN V VICE CAPTAIN
Fine weather meant a great showing for the annual Captain V's Vice Captain.
Random teams were drawn before battle commenced at 08:30.
Players were treated to lovely BBQ following play while the Captain was administering his Key to The Door, a regular fixture at all our big events! I promise there is a key that fits!!!
The match result fell in favour (landslide) of the Vice Captain, who now has 12 months of bragging rights!
ANNODATA TEAM 1 Round 1
The team went into the match with a strong team on paper and hopes were high but it was not to be on the day.
David Kyle gave several shots away with 3 of these on the first three holes , he managed to hold the match ultimately going down 3 and 2.
Richard Yeeles played a strong game against the oppositions weakest link winning an impressive 6 and 4.
Sheldon Halley keeps doing what he does well and took the team 2-1 up with a 4 and 2 victory.
Darren Hitchings had a tough draw against the teams captain a young lad who had a mighty drive, standing on 18 1 down , Darren focused and secured the half.
So it went to the last match with an inform newly retired Sean Horner, unfortunately for him his opposite number was on fire and the match was levelled at 2.5 – 2.5.
Sean went down the extra hole but with momentum on their side the Three locks team secured the win and on they go to round 2.

CLUB MATCH V THE BEDFORDSHIRE
Report from Andy Teague
On a beautiful sunny day Millbrook played the Bedfordshire in a club match and it was to be a fruitful day
Andy Teague and Daz Leach went out first and after a few shared holes got into their stride and secured the first point with a 4 and 3 win
Second out Reece baker and Sean Horner was a tight affair playing against the Bedfordshire top pair being under the cosh for most of the back nine they managed to have a putt to win the game but secured a solid 1/2
Game three was Walter kerr and Simeon Clipstone who managed to squeeze a 3 and 2 victory for another point.
Harmit Bahra and Jon Herbert had a very successful afternoon with a 6 and 4 win which was the best of the day until game five saw Fraser chamberlain and John Mc squeeze a 6 and 5 victory with 4 birdies tucked in there !
Game 6 was an extremely tight affair with Sheldon Hally and Rob Almond being down all day until the 17th when they levelled and then went into the 18th and won the hole 1 up
The lowest better ball of the day was 40 so some great golf out there.
Three out of three so far and onto Buckingham next week which will be a tough match good luck all
