The biennial match against the Ladies Golf Club Troon took place on Wednesday 24 April. The golfers met in the Eden Clubhouse to enjoy coffee and bacon rolls before heading out to play their match over the Eden Course. It was chilly at first but warmer, sunnier conditions developed during the afternoon. Returning to the St Rule Clubhouse, the ladies were treated to a delicious meal by Lesley and the catering team and Gordon made sure everyone’s glass was kept topped up, whether with wine or water! Although a friendly match, the home team was pleased to secure a win by the narrowest of margins – 3.5 to 2.5, with most of the matches being closely fought.

The St Rule team was delighted to have Past Captain Freda Bunch on their side, as it was Freda who first had the idea of playing this friendly fixture several years ago. The Troon ladies rounded off their golfing day in St Andrews in time honoured fashion with a group photo on the Swilcan Bridge in the evening sunshine.
