Juber can’t quite get The Horn!
Annual battle with The Roehampton Club
Last Sunday, Graham Juber captained a club team, playing at Roehampton, in an annual match for a trophy named “The Horn”.

Our team comprising Graham Juber (Captain), Michael Stewart, Ron Lay, Gary Dawson, Patrick Overmeer, Jamie Terry, Les Wong, David Hardman, Anders Neilsen, Paddy Griffith, Aaron Resch and Will Richardson lost a tight match three and half to two and half.

The hospitality at Roehampton was first class, the weather was kind, and the golf course was in excellent condition - with greens that certainly were a test of nerve. Roehampton’s Captain, Peter McGovern and his team were very welcoming and there was certainly no shortage of beer and wine!

The trophy is, very appropriately, a stags horn as both clubs’ emblems contain a stag’s head. On the engraving, it says “Presented by the Framptons – 2005”.  Although before his time our GM can only think it must have been commissioned by our Captain at the time, Roger Frampton. Can anyone deny or confirm?

Onwards and upwards to next year when we host Roehampton and try to get The Horn back!
