Mixed Match - Links Golf Club vs Gog Magog Golf Cl
Gogs retain Jubilee Salver in tight match
6 pairs travelled to Gog Magog Golf Club on Thursday 11th April to contest the Jubilee Salver, presented in 2011 by David & Marian Earle, Links Captains at the time, and Gog Magog Captains David Latham & Eileen Whittle.

In an afternoon of glorious sunshine with a warm but challenging breeze Links Captains Barry Peak and Sarah Reardon led off from the first tee of the Wandlebury Course against Mark Spears (Men’s Vice Captain) and Shirley Singh (Ladies Captain). At the end of the afternoon the first two pairs had returned wins for the Links, including a steely performance from Men’s Vice-Captain James Greenall and playing partner Theresa Locke who converted a 4 hole deficit at the turn into a 2 up win on the 18th.

Of the remaining four matches there was a half valiantly earned by Jack Alletson and Lesley Ellis but sadly 3 wins to Gog Magog which meant that Gog Magog retain the Jubilee Salver by 3½-2½. Hopefully home advantage in 2025 will enable its return to the Links.

In the meantime, if any members would like to participate in the mixed matches who have not already put their names forward, please do so by signing up on the Club Teams option of Club V1 or contacting the club office.
