Seniors Home Victory against Point
Has Spring Arrived?
In a keenly fought contest WCGC seniors came out on top with a 5 to 3 win in their home game against the Point on Thursday 11 April. It was a sterling effort by the visitors who lost a player prior to the match due to a broken down car and another during the match to a suspected mild stroke. Fortunately an ambulance was on the scene within minutes and at the time of writing the player in question was likely on his way home that evening after being looked over at Treliske.

Special thanks to our own Charlie Evans who, in being at the club at the start of the day volunteered to play for the Point. However, even his considerable skills could not thwart the hot putting streak of Richard Webb who, with his partner Ed Rowe, came out on top 4 and 3 in their match.

Special mention also of Kelvin Searle (pictured above with Dave Philips) and John Chalcraft. Kelvin won the nearest the pin competition on Monday at Perranporth and repeated the feat at home today, outstanding play. The captain was also delighted to be partnered by John Chalcraft, who on a short vacation from his post in Moscow was kind enough to carry his partner for most of their round.

With relatively light winds and an occasional view of the sun it was almost like a spring day!

The seniors next meet up for an away match against Newquay on Monday 22nd April.
