A Team Defeat
Perranporth Windy
WCGC A team were welcomed to Perranporth this Sunday to play Newquay in the A team qualifier on what was best described to be a tad blowy. With winds gusting at 60 mph it made playing golf somewhat interesting to say the least.

The team was led out by the Captain Warwick Holland and Ian Brown but unfortunately they found the Newquay no1 and 2 players on fine form coping with the conditions somewhat better, loosing 6 & 5.

However, both pairings of Seamus Stevens/Ross Lawrence and Rob Lewis/Steve Barns both battled hard to half both matches. Seamus and Ross needed to go down the 19th to finalise their fixture where their opponents made a brilliant putt to win.

That resulted in a 2 1/2 v 1/2 win to Newquay.

Well played to them in the conditions and we wish them the very best next round. Well played to all our team in fighting so hard in such tough conditions
