Men’s Matchplay & Mixed Foursomes Matchplay 2024

Entries for the Men’s Singles & Doubles Matchplay, Seniors’ Doubles Matchplay & Mixed Foursomes Matchplay are invited before the closing date of Monday 29th April.
Entry to the Singles is £5 per person. Open to members of 1-year minimum membership
Entry to the Doubles is £10 per pair. Open to members of 1-year minimum membership
Entry to the Seniors’ Doubles is £10 per pair. Open to senior members of 1-year minimum membership
Entry to the Foursomes is £10 per pair. Open to all members
Please place your entry fee along with a completed entry slip (these can be found at the side of the fees box in the shop) in an envelope with your name and which competition entered in the fees box.
PLEASE USE SEPARATE ENVELOPES FOR EACH COMPETITION.
The draws will be made week commencing 29th April and you will receive e-mail notification of your draw and when the round must be completed by.
It is the players’ responsibilities to arrange the match between themselves and play the match by the cut-off date. Any matches not played will be decided by the toss of a coin by the committee.
Players should offer each other 2 weekday dates and 1 weekend date for each round. It is recommended that you arrange the match as early as possible to avoid conflicts.
Once you have played your match, the winner must advise the Competitions Secretary of the result by either text/e-mail to Drew on 07811 988 997 drew.rowbottom@outlook.com or via e-mail through the club secretary secretary@hartcommongolfclub.co.uk
Handicap Rules of Matchplay
Singles: Lowest handicapper plays off scratch and other player plays off the full difference between his & the low man’s course handicaps.
Doubles: NOTE THIS HAS CHANGED AS OF 1st APRIL
Calculate each player’s course handicap, the lowest handicapper plays off scratch & the others play off 90% of the difference.
All matches to be played off white tees.
Mixed Foursomes: Use the England Golf Mixed-Tee-Calculator-WHS to work out team handicaps. Lowest team plays off scratch & the higher team plays off full difference.
Mixed matches Men: White tees Ladies: Red tees Use white stroke indexes.
All-ladies matches Ladies: Red tees Use red ladies stroke indexes.
All-male matches Men: White tees Use White stroke indexes.
Note: the use of buggies during matchplay events, singles or doubles, is prohibited unless due to medical exemption backed up by a doctor’s letter.
