Competition Updates
Competition and Course

Members, the greens committee and handicap convenor feel that we have to make some changes for April in regards to competition play due to the extreme wet weather. Our greenstaff have not been able to carry out rough and fairway cutting. We have no alternative but to cancel the Jackson Cup scheduled to be played on Friday/Saturday of next weekend (12th/13th). At present, it is impossible to play for a trophy under the current circumstances, the Jackson Cup and the Craig Dymock Trophy will be rescheduled for a later date.

All things being well, we are aiming for 19th/20th April where we will play the April Medal as the first official competition. We do intend on having a stableford sweep on Saturday 13th April. Fairway mats are intended to still be in use.

Many courses are now effected with the same conditions as ourselves. It is vert frustrating and disappointing, not just for our members but our staff too as they cannot carry out their duties. The course is still saturated in areas especially the rough and we are unable to use any heavy equipment in those effected areas.

The council and committee will have a chat about how and where we can replan the lost fixtures. We will also have talks about the possibility of extending the season this year, albeit it'll be weather permitting come October. We will keep you informed of the outcome. You will notice below we've already utilised the two May day bank holidays for extra play.

Revised schedule;

Tuesday 9th April Medal - Cancelled

Saturday 13th April, Stableford Sweep with fairway mats.

Starter to advise of rules for the above Sweep

Tuesday 16th April Medal - Cancelled

Fri/Sat 19th/20th April - April Medal

Tuesday 23rd April - Medal

Monday 6th May - Stableford sweep (White)

Monday 27th May - Stableford sweep (White)

Jackson Cup, Craig Dymock Trophy, Tues Medals to be rescheduled

Match play closing dates extended until 29th April

Thank you for your patience during this time, our main priority is keeping members safe and protecting our course.

Regards

Robert Anderson Captain
