Our New Club Captains
2024 AGM, Prizes and Drive-Ins
Our AGM took place in the Cube Room at 4pm on Saturday followed by the Captains Drive-in. A huge welcome to our new Captains: Fiona Stewart, Ian Gibb and Charlie Linch

After the formal appointment of Club Captain Ian Gibb, John Cahill, outgoing Captain and now IPC, handed over the reins.

It’s worth mentioning again the fantastic £76,296 Raised for Prostate Cancer Uk during JC’s term and the success of the testing programme in the club.

Earlier in the morning sixteen pairs played the 23/24 Captain and Pro play off. This betterball event was won by father & son Phil & Henry John - many congratulations Phil & Henry.

Henry & Phil probably not at TRGC!

Also congratulations to Julia Bailey getting an ace. With that, and new Captains drinks, post drive-off, a good day to be had in the front bar!

Other results from the winter were as follows: Grahame Falconer & Justin Webb winning the winter fourball

Grahame receiving his prize

Adrian Fawcett won The Prince Arthur of Connaught trophy and Dermot Doherty won the Winter Mixed Knock-Out

The Winter Scratch was won by Kai Stengel - many congratulations Kai

Kai somewhere bright and sunny this morning!

And also a big hand for Mike (The Hound) Bassett for taking golfer of the year

Post speeches and prizes it only remained to buy a jar of TRGC honey, stick your names down for this year’s Captain and Pro, and head out to watch the drive-in

Well done all for cracking it off the tee. As ever the Junior Captain hitting same distance as the other two combined. Apologies for the wind noise, but if you listen closely at the end there, you may be inclined to think Captain has been taking a few lessons in putting a draw on the drive!
