Little Club of Horrors
Halloween and bits from the week
Little Club of Horrors

Saturday night was party night, with our first Halloween bash held in the Cube Room. Cover picture shows members, and Lords of the Fairways, Page Singletary & Dennis Culligan with their respective good ladies. Naming doesn’t really help as they obviously don’t normally look like that on the course (well Page doesn’t, anyway)

A huge thank you to the house team for making the place look so splendid and full marks on the effort that had gone into themeing the food and everything.

Nicky showing here he can inspire behind the bar and on the dance floor.

We did have a much publicised fancy dress theme for the evening with prizes for best dressed. Along with our witches, zombies, ghouls (and Les and his mate) we also had the transatlantic anything goes approach.

Mike (Top Gun) Stewart, here with wife Fiona, maybe a little understated as a Ghost Buster or maybe over confident from his fancy dress win last time out?

There were individual winners for both men and ladies, voted for by the house team. Best fancy dressed gent went to Barbie! (stewards enquiry on the category then)

Congratulations to Paul Manuel, member of Club and Stage, and next years Stage Captain, pictured here with Ken, alias Ali.

The winning lady was Bex Maguire. Featured a couple of times here in this compilation

Check out the eyes in the closing frame (hope you slept well JM!)

So on to That Was the Week that Was and back to the Barbie pink theme the Friday roll-up cup was won by Tim Hutchence with Charlie Browning taking the silver medal.

Happy to say, unlike in the Sunday roll-up, neither player choked on the final round of the comp. This was mostly due to the fact that neither managed to play! Both sent their apologies and congrats on hanging on to 1st and 2nd places.

Next years Friday roll up kicks off when the clocks go forward.

As reported last week, we had the magnificent Stage show the previous Saturday night and, as promised, we have a few clips available from the show kindly sent through to me by Basil Brush himself, aka Mike Winsor. So for those who couldn’t make it here is The Stage’s take on Les and his tractor mishap

We will bring you a few other clips midweek

And finally, it is with more than a tinge of sadness, we will be saying goodbye to Ryan Holland, No1 assistant pro. Ryan started back in 2006 and is now heading off to become Head Pro at the Al Hannah Golf Club, Abu Dhabi

I commented, to Ryan and Steve, that this was a tad further afield than I would have envisaged. Steve’s reply was, “If you’re selling a dodgy motor you don’t do it locally.”

Trifle harsh!

That’s all folks
