That Was the Weekend that Was
Pink, prizes and much sun
And what a scorching weekend for October it was. The main event had to be Saturday’s Pink Stableford won by Ladies Captain, Enid Hughes.

The event itself raised £1,380 on the day, helped enormously by Tamsin Loke’s sponsorship.

Tamsin thanks all of you, who also donated via her Just Giving Page for Prevent Breast Cancer, which now stands at over £3,000. This is the only UK charity dedicated to the prevention of breast cancer. If there are any still out there who would like to make a donation please do so by clicking HERE

A very special thanks goes out to Grant Elner, who, having picked up the 2’s pot, split his winnings with the charity. Very generous of you Grant and my personal thanks for dressing for the photo!

Saturday night saw the prize giving supper. Many congratulations to all those who have won trophies through the year. Here is a little slide-show of the winners

It is a fantastic achievement to win a trophy at your club and an honour to get your name on a board. It would be great next year to get a few more competitors to the event to support the winners - come along, it is a very good evening

Sunday’s roll up was won by Paul Marples with so many points I can’t recall the exact figure - suffice to say he suffered a three shot cut.

Paul seen here on the left, going for his wallet, whilst Pascal Huser, pictured right, just adds something better looking to the photograph (much like his cars in the car park)

Following the roll-up into Tom’s, came the latest Captain & Pro match, with Robin McNabb and Justin Hatfield doing the challenging.

In a very keenly contested game, which saw all four scoring below net 70, Cap n Pro were one up at the turn. The next eight holes were halved before Steve Burridge and Captain JC took it on eighteen two up.

That’s all folks!
