Junior Match Against Durham City
A great match played
A very closely contested match between the junior teams from BCGC and top of the league, Durham City was played yesterday!
A very strong team from BCGC was supported in reserve by Riley Reid and former junior player Harry Pedley. Lee Reynoldson led the team out and secured a convincing 4&2 win against his opponent. Second on the tee was in-form Mitchell Raine, who was narrowly overcome 2&1 after a very keenly contested match that went to the 17th. Our recent player of the match, Max Hancock, started 3rd for the home team and came up against a very strong player and was defeated 6&5. Our fourth player Sam Dowson showed very good competitive spirit to take the match to the 16th after being 5 down just after the turn, he was finally beaten 3&2. Lastly, our final player was Frank Stephenson, he played some excellent golf and secured a very good 3&2 win. The match finished with a narrow loss to the team at the top of the table, both team's played the match with a real competitive edge all the way round with many of the players knowing each other.
Our next game is at home against South Moor on Thursday 1st June, all support is welcome. The junior team has come such a long way in a very short space of time, we should be very proud of their commitment to the club, the future of the team is very promising.
