We have been extremely busy since September on meeting this challenge. We are excited to now be able to announce that we have this week agreed heads of terms with a new partner, and will swiftly be moving on to signature of contracts.
The partner with whom we will be working is John Palmer, who has real local experience as the owner of Aqua beach bar at Llanbedrog. John also owns the Abersoch Spirit Company, producer of Abersoch Gin and Abersoch Rum, which you may have seen and sampled in our bar. John has many years of experience in the hospitality industry from running his own hotel, to working in hospitality management and stock control, to his current ventures at Aqua. We are confident that he has the required depth of experience - both of the industry and the very seasonal local economy - and resources, to be a thoroughly effective partner.
Two further aspects of John’s proposal that were so encouraging are the flexibility and commitment he has demonstrated to meeting the needs of the members. In formulating our agreement he has really taken into account the feedback with which you have provided the council from both the Members’ survey and verbally.
Whilst there are still some details to be tied up it would be premature to give specific details on the service provision, but I can say that breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided like never before.
January/February: John will reconfigure the kitchen and redecorate The Cove to prepare his vision for our Club restaurant. The aim is to open for the weekend of 11th March, the weekend of the Fitting Out Supper!
