Slow Play
There have been several complaints of Slow Play recently particularly at weekends, where groups have been backed up.
We have already taken action to warn a group that if their pace of play does not improve, they may be refused a Tee Time.
All groups can fall slightly behind if they struggle on a hole, but they should then make every effort to catch up with the group ahead.
As soon as it becomes apparent that they cannot catch up, they should invite the group behind through, if they are being held up.
Where possible the best way to do this is for both groups to Tee off, and then walk ahead together, then allowing the group to play on.
Another noticeable issue on the weekends is 2 Balls taking up tee times during the early periods. This can be tying up tee slots which other players cannot access at the most popular times.
To try and encourage these players to join with others, we will be adopting the practice that "2 Ball will have no standing at weekends".
To those who may not be accustomed to this, it means that people playing as 3 or 4 Balls at weekends do not need to invite 2 Balls to play through.
As such complaints of Slow Play from 2 Balls at weekends will not be listened to. To improve pace of Play, we would once again, encourage players to adopt "Ready Golf", which is encouraged by the EGU.
