Important Members Info
Housing Application
Dear Member,

A Planning Application has been submitted by the Club for Planning Approval in Principle for the development of 3 houses to the right side of the 17th Green (Hawkshill) with the aim, if approved, to provide a much-needed funding injection from its ultimate sale.

The Planning System allows for the public to make representations of Support to the Application and the Club is asking for the support from as many Members as is possible. The weight of support is extremely important in the process, and your assistance and support in this would be greatly appreciated. The Club is asking all members to make contact with the Aberdeenshire Planning website and follow the reference number of the Application (APP/2022/0177), leaving a short note of support at the following link - Simple Search (aberdeenshire.gov.uk)

If for any chance there is a problem with the hyperlink, please go to the following website –

• Aberdeenshire Council Planning Applications,
• go to 'search' and type in the Application reference number - APP/2022/0177
• click on 'make comment' and compose a simple letter of support.......

this will be extremely invaluable to the prospects of the Application.

The application was valid on 28th January. Please make comments by no later than midnight on 3rd March.

In recent times it has only been from the steadfast support of its loyal members that the Club has survived and progressed, able to meet its financial commitments. It goes without saying that the cash injection which would be provided if the development is approved, would provide the shot in the arm that the Club and its members deserve, and would make the years ahead a little easier.

Please see the following guidance for information you may want to structure any representation of support given to Planning around.

• The investment that has been made by the Members is to be commended and has undoubtedly allowed the club to continue.
• The technology such as the 'Trackman' driving range that the Club now has, reflects how forward looking and innovative the club is and the proposed development will allow further investment and enhancement of these facilities. No other Club has the two courses option as well as the 'state-of-the art' coaching and practice facilities.
• The development will allow jobs to be retained/reinstated to support the club. Positions such as Greenkeeping to allow additional work to take place in retaining and improving the facilities provided.
• Much needed further promotion and marketing in line with many of Visit Scotland’s strategies for tourism and golf. Promoting more National Tournaments which increases the high profile of the Club.
• The extremely successful 'Introduction to Golf' children's programme needs to be further developed
• It will allow reciprocal partnerships to continue with local businesses and hotels.
• The development will allow for further support to be given to Local Charities and the wider Local community
• The development will facilitate work at the club which accords with many National and Regional Economic and Tourism Strategies.

Please help your Club by taking a little time to submit a short comment of support to the Council.

Many thanks.
