Doug Park wins Sussex Seniors Championship
First county silverware for doug
Doug Park defied gale force winds to win the Seniors County Championship for the first time with great scores of 72-71 at Royal Eastbourne GC.
Tied with Andy Barnes from Pyecombe GC he went out in -3 to take the lead, but a 4- putt on the 14th reduced his lead, he then gathered himself and closed out with 4 solid pars for comfortable 5 shot win.
Defending Champion , Steve Graham finished 3rd
East Sussex National won the team event , Paul Plant & Steve Graham winning for the 3rd year in a row.
Doug will now represent Sussex in the Champion of Champions at Woodhall Spa hoping to defend the event won by Steve Graham for Sussex last year.
Well played Doug, another success for a East Sussex National to match Martin Galway's win in the Veterans Championship.
