How to complete your scorecard

The chart below explains what information you should put into the various boxes on the scorecard.
Competition Insert the name and type of competition (i.e. Wally Hickling Putter – Medal). Also insert in brackets the handicap allowance for the competition. This can be obtained from fixture list which will be posted in corridor and on board outside Pro-shop.
Date Insert the date the competition was played on
Time Insert the tee time you have been allocated to play
Player A to D Dependent upon the type of competition insert the Players Name (printed). If an individual competition or pairs always put the individual name in Player A and if a pairs competition put the individual players names in Player A and Player B. In such cases the marker’s name should always go under Player D. In team competitions you will obviously have to use all four boxes and the person keeping the score for the team should have their details put into Player D You should insert the players handicap index in brackets after each name. (The Handicap Index will be to one decimal place) The individual player will be able to determine his / her Handicap Index for the day of the competition by logging on to the Club’s App or when they sign into the competition. It is important to record the exact Handicap Index.
Handicap * Under the WHS this should be the individual player(s) Course Handicap which can be obtained from the Course and Slope Rating Notice Board on the first tee. If you read across from your Handicap Index under the appropriate Tee you are playing off. you will find your Course Handicap.

Obviously if your Handicap Index changes your Course Handicap will/may change

Strokes Received ** This relates to your playing handicap which is calculated by multiplying your Course Handicap by the Competition Handicap Allowance. (A number of tables will be produced to allow you to determine your playing handicap) This will tell you how many strokes you get when playing the round which should be used to determine your final score.
