Greens Update
Hi all,

As most of you may know we’ve had contractors in doing some major remodelling of our bunkers on the 16th & 18th holes. You will be pleased to know these projects are now completed and looking fantastic! These holes will be back in play from Saturday 28th but the bunkers and newly turfed areas will be roped off and remain out of play until April next year.

Ball retrievers will be provided to fish your ball from the roped off areas along with drop zones on each hole. The 16th drop zone will be to the left of the green and the 18th will have two drop zones, one to the left and one to the right of the green. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES are you to enter the roped off areas to retrieve your ball! Please use the ball retrievers supplied. If you cannot retrieve your ball using the ball retriever then please leave it and we will collect all balls at the end of the day. These can then be picked up next time you are at the club. We need the bunker bases to set and the newly laid turf to nit so please help this process by staying out of these areas.

We also have a few areas on the 16th and 18th which are marked ground under repair. If your ball lands in these areas, then please drop in the usual manner. It is also worth noting that you get free relief from any tractor marks, so please bear this in mind when playing these holes.

As for the rest of the golf course, we have a few smaller ongoing projects. Please bear with us as it’s been a tough week on the course with the sudden inclement weather.
On that subject the recent weather and unseasonal temperatures, our greens have taken a mild hit of fusarium which is now under control, a fungicide chemical has been applied and over the next few weeks the putting surfaces should be fully recovered. This has affected several other golf clubs in the area and is the blight of all greenkeepers at this time of the year.

As we know this time of year the leaves start to fall and continue to do so right the way through until Christmas. We are both better equipped and have more staff now to deal with this seasonal problem and will attempt to get on top of this problem before it has any adverse effect on your enjoyment of the course

Small note from me, I will continue to work hard to deliver you a golf course to be proud of and my team and I will get even more work done this winter and go into 2020 stronger than ever before.

Have a great weekend!
