Sussex qualify for the Seniors County Finals
Paul Plant & Steve Graham help Sussex Qualify
Sussex Senior County team qualified for a third year running for the English National Finals, having narrowly lost in last year's final by virtue of a 40ft putt on the final green, they have a chance for glory again.

11 counties competed over the East Course at East Sussex National with very few were able to get to grips with the course and Sussex led by 12 shots after day 1. The field included the current Irish & English champions with handicaps as low as +2.

With 5 scores from 6 to count in medal, 12 shots was never comfortable, but Sussex increased their lead after day 2 to take the title by 16 shots with Graham the only player to break par.

Steve Graham claimed the individual trophy with rounds of 71-70 for -3, his second round including 9 birdies.

Sussex now take on the other 3 regions in October's round robin matchplay series at Effingham Golf Club, Surrey.
