Seniors Fall at Falmouth
Captain sorely missed!
Hot on the heels of their away win at Newquay, the Seniors were in action again this week at Falmouth GC. With Captain Gary Barber away in Scotland, it was down to Vice Captain Dennis Fryer to lead the team on this occasion.

The cool and breezy conditions did not dampen hopes of a second West Cornwall victory this week. However, despite a strong team, Falmouth proved too good for the visitors, with the end result a home win 5 1/2 to 2 1/2.

Notable contributions included Steve Blyth and Ryszard Zolkiewicz, who won their match 5&4, and also Paul Overton and Phil Thomas, who won a respectable 3&2. The experienced pairing of recent past Captains Tony Dickinson and Jon Baxter also added a welcome half. Well done also to Steve Blyth for pipping the Vice Captain to the nearest the pin on Falmouth’s new signature 18th hole.

Despite the result, Falmouth were excellent hosts for the day, and everyone commented positively on the welcome, food and course conditions.

Up next, hosting Perranporth at WCGC on 9 May.
