Seniors Win at Newquay
No wind or rain?
In their well contested match at Newquay on Monday 22nd April West Cornwall Seniors came out on top against Newquay's "55 plus Club", an interesting rebrand.

There were some outstanding performances for West Cornwall, with the deadly pairing of Rob Blakesley and Jeff Deakin playing excellent golf to win their game 5 and 4.

Even more notable was the combo of Andrew Wagstaff and Richard Webb who won their game 6 and 5. It was Andrew's debut as a seniors match golfer and he is welcomed into the fellowship of Cornish Seniors. Hopefully he will go on to enjoy many more such matches and the competition and camaraderie it engenders.

It should also be noted that the captain lost his unbeaten record in this match, having forgotten how to putt, and may well have better spent his time with a bucket and spade on the beach on what was a perfect day for golf with blue skies, sunshine and light wind. Let's have many more of these!
