Winter league
Final
Luke Hutchinson and Arron Martin met Gary Johnson and Andy Clarke today in glorious spring weather on a well presented course, to decide this year's Winter league competition. The tie was played exactly as it should be, with respect, integrity, banter and plenty of good golf.
After playing 17 holes very competitively, it came down to the 18th hole, Andy and Jonno are 1up and both on a shot. However, Luke and Arron produced two superb drives long and straight, followed by two equally good approach shots to leave themselves great birdie opportunities and to extend the match. Both putts failed to drop leaving Jonno 2 putts from 4ft to take the title, what could possibly go wrong?. Clarky went very quiet as Jonno slid his putt 2ft bye. But after heaping pressure upon himself, Jonno held his nerve to clinch his putt and this year's winter league title.
