Rain Does Not Stop Play
Beautiful January Sunshine
We have had some beautiful sunny January days up here at the Eastbourne Downs Golf Club. And being located on the top of the South Downs National Park and on chalky ground, despite the wetter weather in the last year, the course has remained open everyday this Winter, allowing our members to get out and enjoy the course and the fantastic views over the town of Eastbourne and across the bay to Hastings and beyond

However, across the country other course are not so lucky, as discussed in a recent article on the GolfShake.com website, that we thought made an interesting read

They report that one of the things that emerged from their recent membership survey is just how many golfers country wide have lost valuable playing time because so many courses have been closed as a result of flooding. They go on to say that this used to be a pretty rare occurrence but there is little doubt that climate change has altered things forever
