Christmas Fayre - The Results
It's beginning to look a lot like...
Having had the Stableford comp on Wednesday, the Better Ball competition was played yesterday in sub-zero temps on temporary greens. That certainly didn’t distract from the scoring as we will see below.

Prize giving took place in The Cube Room at 4.30 - for those winners not present you can collect your goodies from behind the bar.

First off, on the subject of non-attendance, it would have been a very expensive show for Mr Leicester himself, James Johnson, as he netted an ace on the fourth on Wednesday.

Congrats to James and we hear it was a slight shame, playing straight into the sun, that the drop wasn’t seen!

Onto the prizes and in 10th place on Wednesday was Tim Lacey 38, 9th Paul Rowe 38 and 8th Michael Walter 37

In 7th place on Wednesday with 37 points was Imty Arian

6th went to Grant Elner also on 37

Jeremy Glanville-Jones took fifth also on 38 and Chris Lyons was 4th on 39

Bronze medal winner Bill Chandler Boucher with 40 points

Charles Peerlees was runner up on 41

Many congratulations to James Culverwell winning with 41 points on countback

Saturday’s better ball prizes went down to 15th place so on 40, 41 or 42 points you may have been dreaming of a sleeve of three Dunlop 65s - no such luck. Even some on 43 didn’t make the prizes on count back. And much counting back was done so big thanks to GM and team

In 15th Paul Moran and Steve Williams 43-21-12

14th Ron Hicks and Stewart Robinson 43-21-14-7

13th David Invisible Hughes and Mike The Hound Bassett 43-21-14-8

12th place Steve Nabarro, again a solo pic, and Colin J Smith 43-21-15

10th were Jonnie Gash and Will Richardson 44-22-15

11th Kevin Harrington and Gary The Phone Dawson 44-22-16

Andy Williams and Tamsin Loke took 9th 44-23

Andrew MacDonald, pictured here, was 8th with Iain Sawers 44-24-15

7th Mark Stocker and Gary Lowery 44-24-16

6th Imtiaz Arian and Mike Hanak 44-25

In 5th was Chris Lyons, juggling both his prizes, with a late partnership with Angel Xue 45-22

4th Mark Carpenter and Bill Boucher 45-24

First of the podium places went to Peter Stocks, in third, playing with Tim Lacey and scoring 49 points

Second place went to Bob Reid and Bruce Collingwood with 49 points

Saturday’s winners, with a huge 51 points, were Grant Elner and Richard Arnfield.

Very well played gents and we will leave the final word with you once we have thanked again, GM John Maguire, and Vice Captain, Mike Breaking Bad Brown for th presentations and all the prep work from the GM.

Happy Christmas one and all!
