Midweek Round-Up
Captain, Pro, Roll-ups and more
Captain and Pro (JC & Steve Burridge) were out early today, with what was always going to be a tough match, up against Craig Jones and Matt (Dicko) Dickinson. John and Steve were down a couple of holes early in the game, held their own for a while, but eventually lost 4 and 3.

The club had a mixed match against the MCC, last Friday morning, which they won handsomely 5-1. Congratulations to all who played.

The Friday roll-up was on the course behind them and the spoils went to a debut appearance from Simon Russell, carding 42 points and taking a three shot cut.

Fifty quid winnings had already been spent in the pro shop and this form was (not surprisingly) absent on Sunday!

Charlie Browning is leading the Friday roll-up league table.

There is a roll-up this Friday after the Born Too Soon charity day and then four more in October - so time enough to post a few more scores.

Sunday’s roll up was won by Alex Morris, who has featured in the honours a few times recently.

David Bradley and Charles Bain are tied at the top of the Sunday roll-up Order of Merit - for clarification on how that table works all questions to James (wot no pastries?) Drayton.

Whilst we are on the subject of roll-ups, there was a celebration lunch today organised by David Ashworth in honour of Stephenson Singles finalists, James Johnson and Simon Kimble, and half of the Foursomes winning pair, Graham Juber (smaller half) as they are all Monday and Wednesday roll-up regulars.

Simon is seen here dishing out the vino from the jeroboam he kindly bought to James (Mr Leicester) Johnson

Last, but by no means least, a very big welcome back to Assistant General Manager, Frankie O’Donnell.

Somewhat tardy with this one as Frankie came back to us on 1st August having been away for a year taking care of his wife, Aby, through breast cancer, then working more locally. He is very happy to be back, we are very happy to have him back, and, most importantly, Aby is now cancer free. Long may that remain the case!
