After our successful presentation day in February we have 16 juniors who have joined the Saturday morning lessons with Neil and James.
The weather has not been good to the course or the practise area so unfortunately lessons have been cancelled until the weather picks up and the grass has had time to dry out.
On March 19th Warwickshire County held a Wee Wonders Golf Championship competition at Lea Marston Golf Course. Four of our juniors took part in this competition with fantastic results.
One of our 9 year old members William Hardy won the Boy’s under 12 Gross and Nett competition and to top this he came 2nd Gross out of all age groups. William was also the overall winner in all age categories in the putting competition. We congratulate William on this fantastic achievement at the beginning of the season. It will be well worth looking out for Williams’ results throughout the year he is certainly one to follow.
Harper Reay another youngster who is improving every competition, now off a handicap of 21.5 aged 11 came 11th Gross and 18th Nett in the Wee Wonders Championships. Noel Pagett another Maxstoke junior in the same competition came 18th in the Gross, 16th Nett well done to all these players.
Warwickshire School Championship at Hearsall Golf Club was on Tuesday 28th March 2023.
Another fantastic result for William Hardy who came 1st with a spectacular score of 67 Nett off the White Tees in wet and cold conditions. Another fantastic achievement at the beginning of the season for William.
Maxstoke are very proud to have such a super star.
Noel Pagett also one to be watched finished 4th Nett with a 69 Nett.
Harper Reay finished 41st in the Gross
Danny Cridge finished in 49th in the Gross
Congratulation to all of these Maxstoke Juniors and good luck in the future competitions you play in throughout the year.
We have joined a summer league this year and will be playing home and away matches against Gaudet Luce and Olton. We will keep members updated with our results.
